Tues 20 March

Bristol Corinthian YC, Fat Face RS200 Open.

Battered at Bristol...Another challenging open for us, shifty, gusty and quite enough wind for 3 races thank you! And enough capsizing practice to last all season. Mind you apparently only 1 competitor in the entire 46 boat fleet managed to stay upright all day, so some comfort in that. Left us feeling much like after last years Wigmore racing on the Saturday...

Only 1 days racing in the end due to Sundays screaming wind, (entertaining though to watch some amazing 200 speed freaks flying kites and boats behaving like bucking broncos)...so no chance for the usual Ronnie comeback charge, leaving us with a somewhat lacklustre mid twentys finish, sounds better than it was as not many finishers behind us on the water!

Roger Gilbert and Jane Willan in his beautifully bimbled 1219 won the event with a fairly consistant 1,2,2!

Watching the top guys sail in these conditions and keeping their boats flat with no apparent effort was depressing and exciting...Well, not that exciting...Anyway, Ian Pickard was there and got a race win, so hopefully we can all get some good tips from him on the 28th April in respect to that.

Itchenor next stop, it'll be nice to be home!!! See you there.

Y&Y Report & Results with some great shots!
