Thurs 24 May

So there we go…our first SEAS Open.

Despite virtually no wind forecast and the prospect of no racing, we had a very respectable 16 visiting boats arrive from 9 different clubs including two of the top national circuit boats Tom & Jo Hewitson, current Inland champions (they’ve won it 5 times in the last 6 years) and Ian Pickard winner of the Eurocup circuit in 2006 and currently lying 2nd overall in this years Fat Face circuit events.

The overall results show an even split of visitors and club boats all the way down the 29 positions, with our highest placed boat, Martyn & Clare in 5th. Well done to them.

A mention and special thanks to everyone who helped make the event run smoothly: Andy Penman (PRO and photographer) and team in the committee boat and RIBS in very tricky conditions, Caroline Gosford handling a grumpy computer for results, Rory Scott for assisting the visitors on arrival, Jane Neall and Alison Disley taking entries, Harry Roome for writing the report, Ted Roose and Jeremy Buckewell standing by incase of any RYA mediation requirements, Steve Hammett, Carolyn Brigg, Viv, Vicky and Stephen in the office for all their help in every other area.
